the favourites in the area. They are found on land, usually in moist forests, but are more often heard than spotted. Their call is like a trilly whistle that lasts for one or two seconds. They call up to 700 times an hour and are most often heard in June, during their mating season. These little guys, though easily heard, are very hard to spot, because most are nocturnal, and they have a chameleon-like ability to change colour. They can change from green to brown to grey, to perfectly match their surroundings. However, this usually takes them at least an hour.
