Jack Martin
Jack Martin was born in Toronto in 1924, and enlisted as a cadet with the Queen’s Own Rifles of Canada when he was a teenager. He shipped overseas to England in 1943, where he trained extensively as a mortar man for the invasion of Europe. He landed on D-Day and fought through Normandy and NW Europe to the end of the war. A quiet, gentle man, he returned to Toronto and spent his career working in the contracting business. He remains very active with his Legion and his regiment.
Toronto where he became an urban planner. He lives in Don Mills with his wife.
