Lou Pantaleo
Lou Pantaleo was born in New Jersey in 1921, and was orphaned at the age of 12. He worked as a child to keep himself alive, and ultimately moved north to Canada late in the Great Depression. At the outbreak of war, he enlisted with the Royal Regiment of Canada and was part of the force that attacked the port of Dieppe on August 19th, 1942. Lou was wounded and captured at Puys, just west of Dieppe, and spent the rest of the war as a PoW. He returned to Canada after the war and built a very successful career as a concrete contractor. He lives in North York, is a collector of vintage sports cars, and never speaks of the war.
