The Subalpine ClimateThe mean annual temperature ranges from minus or negative 1 degree Celsius to 3 degrees Celsius with a mean July temperature of 15 degrees Celsius in the south and 9 degrees Celsius in the north. Below freezing temperatures occur in all months and the frost-free period is likely less than 30 days. Total annual precipitation ranges from 460 millimetres in the drier Front Ranges to more than 1400 millimetres in parts of the south. Winter precipitation is higher in this subregion than any other in Alberta with often more than 200 centimetres of snowfall.
