Denise Comeau lives and works along the shores of Baie Sainte-Marie. Born in 1958, she has been an artist for the past 10 years using various forms such as watercolors, acrylics, and printmaking. Mostly self-taught, she has benefited from several workshops in Nova Scotia and in Québec as well as having participated in a cultural exchange program in Poitiers, France in 1995. She currently teaches art classes at the College de l'Acadie and in the schools through Visual Arts Nova Scotia's PAINTS program. She has held numerous exhibits of her works throughout Nova Scotia and was part of a group show at Studio 21 in Halifax recently. Denise has opened her own studio at her home in Comeauville in Baie Sainte-Marie. She is a board member of the Annapolis Region Community Arts Council, the Conseil des arts de Clare, the Conseil culturel acadien de la Nouvelle-Écosse (Association des artistes), and is also a member of Visual Arts Nova Scotia. |
