As you may have been able to gather from all the history on the area, it indeed is very historic. There is so much more that happened in the area of Grassy Island and Canso, in fact too much to mention. It needs a website all on its own. Although we can't address all aspects of the history of Grassy and Canso area, we wanted to shed just a little more light on the subject. We have included a brief outline or rather timeline of the general happenings in the area to give you a better idea of the sequence of events in the area. We have addressed the 1800's as well, past the time of Grassy Island, just to give you a broader sense of the history of Canso and Area.
