Mission Statement

The Baccalieu Trail Heritage Corporation exists to identify, preserve and promote, in cooperation with the region's residents, the unique heritage resources of the Bay de Verde Peninsula, to instill pride in our region and to ensure our quality of life is enjoyed by present and future generations.

Background

Since its inception in 1993 the Baccalieu Trail Heritage Corporation has been involved in a wide variety of initiatives to raise awareness of, promote, and develop the heritage resources of the Baccalieu Trail. It has made considerable progress, particularly in the areas of raising awareness and promotion. In so doing it has laid the necessary groundwork for the development of the region's rich heritage resources. It has also played an important coordinating role on the Baccalieu Trail by helping to bring together the various local heritage groups to share information and to collectively promote the heritage of the region.
