Located in the north east of Alberta (Canada), about 240 km from Edmonton, Bonnyville is a major service centre with more than 10,000 consumers living within 10 km of the town. Natural resources, cultural diversity, and extraordinary historical heritage attract not only businesses and tourists, but also families wishing to learn about their origins. Agriculture, the oil and gas industry, and 500 other businesses (construction, transport, retail and service, etc.) contribute to the economic development of Bonnyville and District. The Town of Bonnyville is situated on one of the largest petroleum deposits in Canada (200 billion barrels). Bonnyville is known as a paradise for hunters, fishermen and, most of all, birdwatchers and ornithologists who come to Jessie Lake, during springtime, to observe nearly 200 species of birds. The Canadian Forces Base in Cold Lake is another source of tourists, consumers, volunteers and potential employees for the different businesses in Bonnyville.
