Classroom Activities
Tools that can be used in the classroom in order to educate students about forest fire prevention and forest awareness.

A Safe Fire
Students will understand the nature of fire and know how to ignite, maintain and extinguish a campfire.

Burning Issues
Students will become familiar with fire terminology, realize how fire can be used as a management tool, and better understand the factors that need to be considered when planning a prescribed burn.

Perspectives on Fire
Students will understand positive and negative effects of wildfire and will begin to form their own opinions about fire management.

Smokey Says
Students will understand the values of fire prevention and safety campaigns.

Wildland Fire Figures
Students will be able to show, using graphs and statistics, how much forested area is burned over a ten year period in Canada and in their province or territory.
