The Canterbury Collection: In Summary

Our goal with the Canterbury Collection is to enlighten web surfers to the wonderful world of the arts by looking at arts education in action.

Canterbury High School gained its specialty arts program in 1983, and since then has been offering students from Ottawa, Canada the opportunity to pursue excellence in one form of art - dance, drama, literary arts, vocal or instrumental music or visual arts - in conjunction with a regular academic curriculum.

The Canterbury Collection highlights student's work from 1983 to 1996, offering examples of the work and information on it's creators (photographs, sound clips and written work), commentary from students and faculty of Canterbury, as well as providing an extensive archive of newspaper articles that have focused on the school.

We hope our visitors will come away with a greater appreciation of student art and of arts education as an effective way of creating self-confident, positive individuals.

Please continue on and explore The Canterbury Collection.
