Wedding of Charles and Diana
Vicki (age 35)
What a day! We got to see Charles, the prince of Wales, marry Lady Diana Spencer... There were 2500 invited guests, but everyone in Canada, Britain, the United States and probably other countries got to see them get married. They said that there were 750 million viewers around the world. Amazing! I will always remember them getting married, and the wonderful commentary by Mark Phillips.

The National
Richard (age 35)
I trust them. They tell me the news as it really happened, not some twisted version that some other stations broadcast. They are trustworthy. They say the news in a way that my 8-year-old son can understand it, yet complex enough for us, the adults, to get all the news we want.

The Journal
The first edition of The Journal, hosted by Barbara Frum and Mary Lou Finlay, aired amid much fanfare and controversy. The Journal's producer, Mark Starowicz, presented a mix of mini-documentaries and edited double-ender interviews which drew critical attention. The CBC's gamble in moving its major news and current affairs hour to 10:00 p.m. paid off almost immediately with a substantial improvement in ratings.

Street Legal
Vicki (age 35)
I just saw the first episode of Street Legal. Oh my god! It was so contrivertial!! First, they put a young person who wants to "prove himself" by going to jail for a petty offence. Then, they have a lawyer who debates whether to leave the firm to become in-house council to a wealthy porn-video entrepeneur!! And not only that, but they have Leon defending a white supremacist!! Unbelievable.
