ERNEST MACMILLAN (1893-1973) enjoyed a multifaceted 70-year career during which he matured from a precociously talented child organist into the distinguished elder statesman of Canadian music. Although he lived in Toronto, MacMillan touched the lives of people across the country through his extensive travels and his leadership of national organizations, several of which he founded.
