Frederick W. Mills



FREDERICK W. MILLS was an organist, composer and choir conductor. He was a co-founder in 1868 and president in 1871 of the AMQ (Académie de musique de Québec). In 1869 with Antoine Dessane he revived the Quebec Harmonic Society. He moved to Ottawa ca. 1872 to become organist at Christ Church and in 1874 he was the conductor of the Ottawa Choral Union. He published several waltzes and piano pieces, as well as the operetta The Maire of St. Brieux, produced at Government House (Ottawa) for Lady Dufferin in 1875.
