Description:
This symbol is composed of a rough and sinuous line suggesting the interlacing figures of Celtic symbolism. The centre represents the shape of the church's windows. The texture of the line suggests the stone from the old monuments in the cemeteries. The symbol is reversible, although slightly asymmetrical, for more dynamism.

Signification:
We can easily recognize the sinuous roads of Inverness, but the rough line also represents the hard life of the first settlers. At the turn of the road, an old building (or church) receives visitors. Its appearance reveals the marks of time, but it is surrounded, protected.

The interlacing figure gives an impression of strength and unity, and suggests the movement... from the entrance to the exit, from the past to the future.

Green was the obvious colour for this symbol. Mainly to recall the Irish and Scottish roots of the settlers, but also to represent the nature surrounding Inverness. The characters are also from Celtic origins. This gives this symbol its authenticity.
