The Scottish Monument
The first Scottish cemetery was established in 1829 on Range Road 3 north of Lake Joseph (Lock Lomond). It is now very difficult to access the site as nature has regained its rights. A monument was erected in 1919 to indicate the location where 70 people were buried with only a wooden cross as a grave marker. The descendants of those settlers, dispersed across North America, contributed to the establishment of the monument.
