1920
  • Joint boards recommend school consolidation - the most efficient and cheapest scheme for our schools.
  • Councils reject daylight saving - City and Township endorse request that British Columbia Electric Railway revert to normal time.
  • Smallpox again among Indians - Dr. McCaffrey points out that smallpox is still prevalent among the Indians of the district

1921

  • Cecil B. Demille's production of "Why Change Your Wife?" plays at Imperial Theatre.
  • Sardis Community Hall officially opens
  • Ford touring car with starter available for $775.00 F.O.B. the factory from A.S. Goard Motors Ltd.

1922

  • Fire wipes out the Vedder Hotel. Famous resort of hunters and fishermen a total loss.
  • Chilliwack potatoes capture many prizes. Fairfield Island growers produce first class seed.

1923

  • Chilliwack War Memorial dedicated to those who died in the Great War, 1914-1918.
  • Columbia Bitulithic will hard surface 2.5 miles from City limits to BCER tracks in Sardis.
  • Township celebrates 50th Anniversary - First Reeve John McCutcheon honored.

1924

  • Sumas Lake Reclamation project - It took nearly a full year, until June 1924, to completely drain Sumas Lake.
  • The new $200,000 Coqualeetza Residential School opens at Sardis
  • Official opening of Cultus Lake Park deemed an outstanding success.

1925

  • Construction of big Fraser Valley Milk Producers' Association Plant at Sardis
  • Lord Byng of Vimy, Governor General of Canada visits July 8.
  • New trans-provincial highway through Fraser Canyon will carry much traffic.

1926

  • Hop harvest one of the best; Valley hop industry growing with 1,000 acres in crop
  • Canada from sea to sea has rejected prohibition

1927

  • Birth of C.H.W.K. radio- Department of Marine and Fisheries issues License no. 100 to Clarence C. Wells of Chilliwack, B.C., call signal 5 C G.

1928

  • Immigration of Mennonites into Yarrow. The Bargan and Sawatzky families take up residence on land purchased from Mr. Chauncey E. Eckert.

1929

  • City and Municipal bodies accept proposal for Provincial policing.
  • Rosedale Community Hall officially opened with fine banquet
  • Chilliwack Telephone Ltd. erects new telephone building at corner of Yale and Kipp
