Your Invitation to Participate in The Grand Strategy

In 1994, the Grand River and its tributaries, the Nith, Conestogo, Speed and Eramosa Rivers were proclaimed a Canadian Heritage River. Extensive public involvement resulted in a management plan called The Grand Strategy for Managing the Grand River as a Canadian Heritage River.

Participants indicated that the next step in the evolution of The Grand Strategy was to broaden its scope to address pressing watershed resource issues. The key to maintaining a healthy watershed is to ensure that we know the consequences of our actions so that we can prevent negative impacts.

The Coordinating Committee is developing a range of opportunities for you to contribute to The Grand Strategy for Shared Management of the Grand River Watershed.

Please take a moment to read this newsletter and consider participating in The Grand Strategy. If you have any questions or would like more information, please feel free to contact Barbara Veale or Lorrie Minshall at the Grand River Conservation Authority.
