Coordinating Committee
  • Coordinate and integrate the activities of the Working Groups to produce an integrated watershed management plan.
  • Provide opportunities for public participation.
  • Prepare annual watershed reports.
  • Senior (regional/field) staff of the participating agencies, provincial ministries, and municipalities,
  • The aboriginal First Nations and
  • public representatives
Technical Working Groups
  • Determine information requirements, gaps and the condition of the resource
  • Develop specific projects or action plans dealing with watershed resources
  • Deal with details of how specific projects or activities should be carried out.
  • Senior technical staff of participating ministries, agencies, municipalities,
  • First Nations and
  • Public representatives with technical expertise
Community Working Groups
  • Provide a forum for people with varying backgrounds and interests to discuss and define local issues and priorities.
  • Gather local knowledge.
  • Define what the community would like to see addressed in the annual State of the Watershed Report.
  • Organize and host opportunities for local participation.
  • Raise questions regarding local resource and community issues to appropriate technical working groups.
  • Sponsor, instigate and/or take responsibility for local resource management actions.
  • Monitor the condition of local resources.
Local representation from a broad base of community perspectives including:
  • industry, business, agriculture
  • education, health, labour
  • naturalist, environmental
  • municipal councillors, staff
  • agency and government staff
  • aboriginal First Nations
  • service clubs
  • social services
  • heritage, tourism, arts, recreation, religious
