The Designers

        Owen Bondi, Brandon LaForme, Lorrie Murphy, Douglas Pruitt and Andy Staats were chosen from a larger group of students participating in an Aboriginal Youth Web Page Design Program hosted by the Native Skills Centre (Toronto) Inc. These youth were chosen based on their aptitude, grades and creativity. Each member of this team brought a unique skill and quality which enabled this group to design and create this web site.

        Each member of the team was involved in the development, design and construction of this web site.

Owen Bondi

Owen Bondi brought specialized expertise, experience and focus to the team. His understanding of web page construction and design significantly moved the team forward and produced excellent results. Owen is an Ojibway from the Whitefish River First Nation. Although only 19 years of age, Owen has knowledge and experience in Network Administration and Computer Repair and Maintenance. Highly technical with a strong knowledge of HTML and Graphic Illustration, Owen is a valuable member of this team.

 

Brandon LaForme

Brandon LaForme

Brandon LaForme's leadership and creativity added to the team's ability to plan and develop this web site. A Mohawk from Kahnawake, Brandon, 18, demonstrates flexibility and strong decision making skills. Brandon also displays an aptitude for graphic illustration and presentation. His enthusiasm, energy and willingness to share knowledge as well as his ability to learn concepts quickly is an asset to the team.

 

Lorrie Murphy

Lorrie Murphy

Lorrie Murphy's artistic eye and experience in web page design benefited the creation, layout and development of the web site. Lorrie also displays an aptitude for image creation and manipulation. Her focus, knowledge of website construction, and commitment to the project helped the team and project move at a rapid pace. Lorrie, 21, a Cree from Saskatchewan was a stabilizing member of the team contributing greatly to the success of the project.

  

Doug Pruitt

Douglas Pruitt

Douglas Pruitt's sense of cohesiveness and responsibility was conducive for the team to move forward and produce results. Doug, 19, an Ojibway from Ontario, demonstrated an attention to detail, openness to ideas, flexibility, and a willingness to explore creative alternatives in problem solving. Doug's ability to demonstrate leadership qualities in examining project progress and build team spirit made him a valuable addition to the project.

 

Andy Staats

Andy Staats

Andy Staat's outstanding organizational abilities provided a steady contribution to the project team. Andy, a Mohawk, from the Six Nations of Grand River is 20.  Andy has exceptional work ethics and has proven to have a balancing effect on the team. Andy is diligent, responsible, and able to work independently. His enormous contribution in the research, acquisition and modification of images as well as the construction of numerous web pages proved to be instrumental to the development of the web site.

    The designers were supervised by John Espinosa, Co-ordinator for the Web Page Design Program at the Native Skills Centre (Toronto) Inc.  Further direction and guidance were provided by Mike Jacobs, Helen Bobiwash, Jamie Hill and Leslie McGregor.
