The caboose is
the last car on a train. This particular caboose traveled the Grand Trunk Railway back and
forth most of its life. The Grand Trunk Railway was built to provide a main trunk link
"throughout the province of Canada." It was sponsored by Sir Francis Hinks, and
most of the cost was financed by Britain. A stretch of railroad between Toronto and
Montreal was purchased by the St. Lawrence and Atlantic Railroad in 1853. Then it was
placed under management of Canadian Pacific Railway on January 30, 1923. |
