This is Dr. Fergusson's sleigh. He would have used it during the winter time to make house calls to those in need. Horses would have pulled this sleigh across the wilderness. The doctor would have found this very useful, as his patients would not have lived in close proximity to each other. The doctor would have had to travel very long distances. Having a sleigh that is pulled by horses to travel those distances would have made his practice a lot easier. It would have made him more effective in his contribution to the community.
