The Children’s Bedroom:

This is the children's room, it had lots of toys and books to keep the children busy. Remember, this family was a large family with fourteen children, like most families of that time. It was rare that a child would have had a bedroom to themselves, as is common today. There were only 3 bedrooms in this house, including the one downstairs for Grandma. Three bedrooms for fourteen children!  Now picture this room with seven more children in it and you will get an idea of what it was like trying to share the limited amount of toys and books available. Still, this family would have lived a good life and the children would have been used to sharing and playing with each other.
