The Parents Bedroom:
This nicely decorated room was the
parents bedroom. Trying to sleep in it however would have been
difficult, with cradles always present for the yougest child. The Duford family had
fourteen children so it would not have been uncommon to have had two babies at one time.
Another thing to consider, was the fact that this house did not have electricity.
When the babies woke up at night, the parents had to light candles to see where they were
going. It would have also been quite cold, particularly in the winter, so extra
blankets were always required. |
