This is a Thomas Organ and Piano Company piano, made in Woodstock Ontario. It is a typical example of the type of piano that a family such as the Dufords would have had in the 1930s. Many families had pianos because it would have been one of the major forms of entertainment. They had no electricity, so entertainment from television and VCRs would not have been possible. With a piano, they could keep themselves occupied with music, played by various family members.
