Can you believe that this is what the Dufords would have used to vacuum their house?  However, it did the job. This vacuum was one of the first non-electric vacuums to use a suction fan, powered by a hand crank on the handle. It also had a very effective brush roll.  The look of this vacuum may seem simple and archaic, however it's a primitive model of the vacuums we have today.
