Telephone: The telephone would have been a very uncommon item to
have had in the 1930s. The Foubert family would have been very lucky to have been able to
own a telephone. This particular phone is a very basic model of what we have now a days.
It worked differently than the ones today. You could not simply pick up the phone, dial a
number, and get who you wanted. There was a system in which various numbers of rings would
mean that it was for you. Although it was more complicated than it is today it still would
have been an incredibly useful thing to have. |
