Welcome to the inside of the schoolhouse. Is it what you expected? This is almost exactly what the inside of French Hill School would have looked like between 1900 and 1936. You can notice from this picture: the woodstove, the piano and the library. Punishments were very different in the 1930s much harsher than they are today! It is really hard to believe how much schools have changed in the past 70 years. Eight different grades would have tried to learn everything they would have needed to go on in life, in one room. Come and learn more about the artifacts that are kept in the building and a little about what it would have been like to go to such a school in the 1930s!
