Flying has been a source of fascination to man since the time of the early Greeks. Man's passion to fly must have originated in prehistoric times with the invention of ornithopters.

exciting. Possible careers are also introduced. A wonderful site filled with fun activities for students.

Special note to the teacher:

If you are concerned with the amount of reading involved, pair up strong readers with weaker ones. Students may have to do some searching on their own on the Internet. If access to the Internet is limited, use books. The goal is to get students to learn how to locate information and be able to organize it and present it.

Assessment:
  1. Check that timeline includes all key milestones of flight and that dates are listed in chronological order.
