Day 7 - Why do we want to fly?
Talk about the experience of flying and why people want to fly. What About Learning to Fly?

Read about the reasons for becoming a pilot.

Objectives:
  1. To share ideas and experiences about flying.
  2. To communicate thoughts in speech and on paper. -
Activity:
  1. Discuss as a class why people are fascinated with flight. Bring up Icarus, the Wright Brothers, Amelia Earhart, flying carpets, etc.
  2. Student discussion about their flying experiences in small and large groups.
  3. Choice for students: illustrate a memorable part of their experience, write a poem or story about flying.
  4. Share and celebrate student work.
Extension:
  1. Research and share a myth about flying.
