The Bastion - NANAIMO B.C.
Originally built to protect the employees and families of the Hudson's Bay Company (HBC) from the Natives, the Bastion in Nanaimo, B.C. now exists as a museum.

Table of Contents
The Bastion is the last freestanding building of its type in North America. Aside from its architectural features, its authentic artifacts, many uses over the years, and ownership by the HBC have made it the primary historical monument in Nanaimo, B.C.
