Several noteworthy master plans for the campus were prepared in the 1965 to 68 period. At that time
more than one-half of the current buildings already had been constructed, or committed for construction;
and student enrolments were increasing at a level similar to current enrolment growth (1992).
The left image illustrates a master plan scheme which exists in the form of photographs of a presentation
model. No drawings, precise date, nor originator are known for this concept, the first conclusively to
employ towers on the campus. This expressed concept illustrated a 10-storey towers near the current
site of Dunton Tower, and an 8-storey, seven-tower complex on thee current site of the four-tower
Loeb Building. This proposed campus plan presumably dates from 1965, and is here known as the model
plan (C.1965).
The right image illustrates the Graham plan (1966), prepared by D.W. Graham and Associates, landscape
architectural consultants. Graham explicitly hoped his master plan would "lead to an ultimate
development that is logical, well-organized and aesthetically pleasing".
