In the past twenty-four year period there have been only two master plans, or master plan-like land use proposals, for the campus: one known here as the Silva plan (1984), the other as the Silva plan (1992). The image on the left illustrates the 1984 plan. It is after a map accompanying a report prepared by the department of physical plant titled, "Carleton University land use study", December 1984. Building areas as designated in legend have been calculated from data contained in the report.
