Today, it is difficult to visually identify with the original design concept. However, here and there one can find examples of aesthetic success: The amphitheatre and residences' mall termination in the Stormont-Dundas courtyard. There are, it is known, new opportunities, such as the redesign of Alumni Park with focus on a renewed fountain and links to the river, and future proposals for infill construction projects that will, hopefully, rigorously reinforce remaining topographical features.

It was once said that the campus plan was designed by a committee, for a committee. Perhaps a new plan is in order - a plan that will recapture the thrilling vision of the original; a plan based upon principles, without conjecture; and a plan that will be guided by a "committee of the whole".
