Lloyd Brass, born in 1944, is a member of the Cote First Nation. He has been married to Corrine for 29 years and has five children. After receiving his grade 12 education Lloyd went on to work as a laborer, a child care worker (in Grouard, Alberta), has held the positions of Recreation Director, Employment Officer, Housing Coordinator, Band Manager, and Band Councilor for the Cote First Nation.

In the 70's, Lloyd was a news reporter and sports editor for the Saskatchewan Indian. Following his years with Saskatchewan Indian he went on to be Assistant to Vice-Chief Sterling Brass from 1983 to 1987.

Lloyd was approached by the City of Saskatoon and contracted to develop the Wanuskewin Heritage Park securing $6 million from the Federal Government in the process. Once Wanuskewin Heritage Park site was established Lloyd returned home to act as Education Coordinator for the Chief Gabriel Cote School.

Lloyd eventually went on to become the Assistant Tribal Chief Representative for eight years for the Yorkton Tribal Council. His highlight as Assistant Tribal Chief for YTC was addressing the United Nations on the Treaty Four Document in Geneva, Switzerland.

Lloyd is presently the Coordinator of the Treaty Governance Processes with the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations continuing his fight in upholding treaty rights.
