Oneill
Gladue has achieved a high level of success as a leader
in the emerging First Nations economic development sector. First as Assistant Executive
Director and later in the elected position of Vice Chief
of the Meadow Lake Tribal Council he has been responsible
for a variety of major economic initiatives.
A solid grasp of
political and econonic affairs at the regional,
provincial and national level has resulted in Vice Chief
Gladue being appointed to many boards and agencies
including the Indian Government Commission of the
Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations and Commissions
governing Economic Development, Justice, Gaming and
Taxation. He also co-chairs the Saskatchewan Indian
Cultural Centre.
Before entering public
life, Vice Chief Gladue operated a large farm as well as
a trucking company. He also served as a Land Entitlemant
Co-ordinator.
