Ud  

Ud
The ud has six courses of two-strings played with a plectrum--often a trimmed eagle's feather producing a deep and mellow sound.

Tablah
Usually made of earthenware or metal, the tablah is a small hand drum also known as the durbakke.

 


Nay
A simple open-ended reed instrument which usually have six holes in the front for the fingers to play and one hole underneath for the thumb.



Mijwiz
Similar to the English tambourine, it consists of a round frame, covered on one side with goat or fish skin.

 

Daff
Similar to the English tambourine, it consists of a round frame, covered on one side with goat or fish skin.


Qanun
It consists of 81 strings that are stretched in groups of three with 24 treble chords. The strings are plucked with the finger or with two plectra.




Buzuq
A long necked fretted sting instrument, the buzuq is furnished with two metal strings which are played with plectrum, offering a metallic yet lyrical resonance.
