"Before the arrival of white settlers, the native indians already had a tradition of monster sightings. In 1984 a fisherman situated in Vancouver's outer harbour was confronted with a creature less than 200 feet away from his boat. Mr. Thompson said it happened on a calm day when there were no other boats around. He glanced over to the southwest and there it was, moving between 12 and 15 knots out towards the Pacific Ocean, its head craned almost backwards, looking straight at him.

He claims it was tan coloured, covered in fur, with a white stripe down its forehead and a black snout. There were two floppy ears, one which hung over its face while the other stood upright, and possibly a pair of stubby horns.

Caddy was sighted on New Years Day 1985 by a Mr. Cole who was standing by his living room window looking out to sea. He saw what he took to be a man standing up at the bow of a row boat. He thought it was a dangerous and stupid thing to do and picked up a pair of binoculars. He could not believe his eyes.

"Low and behold it wasn't a boat it was a creature! It had a dinosaur head-small in proportion to its body, a columnal neck which curved up from a swan's body which petered down to a tail."

Mr. Cole turned and shouted to other people in the house, but when he looked back the creature had gone.
