Horsefly River

At this site several fossilized fish including the amyzon from the Cenozoic period have been found.

Amyzon Aggregatum

This fish is an ancient relative of the sucker family. Amyzons had downward-pointing thick-lipped mouths that they used to suck mud from the bottom of lakes and rivers, like today's suckerfishes.
