HOW TO PLAY
- Any number of players may play. The game opens with everyone
placing his sticks in a pile. One man is chosen to ensure that all the
stakes were of equal value.
- The game is played in a series of four rounds: the first
play uses the small shells as dice, the second uses the prune pits, the
third uses the wooden chip, and the last round is played with the bear
claws.
- One man begins the game by placing the first set of dice
in the cup, shaking them and spilling them before him.
- The points are scored according to how the dice fall:
- 5 points when the shells fall upward.
- 3 points when the "back" of the prune pit shows.
- 2 points when the marked side of the wooden chip shows.
- 40 points when even one of the bear claws falls upright
- the first player to achieve this takes game.
- Each player takes one turn at each play; the dice are
then passed to the person on the right.
- The person with the most tallies at the end of the four
plays wins the game.
