Dairy Farming (65kb)
Dairy Farming

Although there was grazing land available for dairy cattle, there was no efficient means of transporting the produce. Butter could be sealed in cans and shipped out on a boat, but milk would go so sour long before it got to the consumer.

This changed with the completion of the B.C. Electric Railroad; milk could be delivered fast enough to prevent spoilage. Thus it became known as the "Milk Train".
