When Bowaters started work in the Lomond area, some families moved into Wiltondale for the winter months. Mr. and Mrs. Wilton gave many lunches to people travelling from Bonne Bay and to Deer Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Wilton moved to the site in 1927. Many travelers stopped in for meals or for overnight.
