Wiltondale 1938
Pioneer family of Wiltondale, shown in front of their first home (A log cabin ). From L-R: Norman Wilton, his son Alexander (Sandy), and his wife Annie. For about 10 years they were the only family there, then the children married and settled there. When Bowaters started work in the Lomond area, some families moved into Wiltondale for the winter months. Mr. and Mrs. Wilton gave many lunches to people travelling from Bonne Bay and to Deer Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Wilton moved to the site in 1927. Many travelers stopped in for meals or for overnight. Donor: Bessie Critch |
