The bridge was floated across the tickle on November 14,1962 at 2 P.M. It had to be a calm day with very little tide. There were lots of people out to watch the event. Bill Pittman had his boat tied alongside just in case something happened. Note the man standing on top of the bridge. He was the insurance man from Scotland making sure that everything was done correctly.
