The plane from this picture belonged to the United States and it came from the U.S airforce base in Stephenville. It crashed on the ice in Rocky Harbour. Men and equipment such as "The Duck" came and dismantled it and returned all parts to the airforce base at Stephenville. This was the first time many people in Rocky Harbour saw a plane.
