Glenburnie Early 1940's

The schooner Miss Glenburnie was built in Silverton. The ship had a gross weight of  85 tons. Captain Walter Young and sons built the schooner which carried lumber from all along the west coast to Corner Brook. They also made trips to North Sydney for flour and coal. The schooner was later sold to H. Patten from Fortune Bay. It sunk off the coast of Nova Scotia after being rammed by another vessel.
