Brian Timmis Stadium
Originally part of the Civic Stadium property now known as Ivor Wynne, today Brian Timmis Stadium is a 5,000 seat stadium that boasts one of the best natural grass pitches in the Canadian Professional Soccer League. The site was originally a baseball stadium but was redeveloped into a football field at a cost of $100,000 in 1968. It was named for Hamilton sports personality Brian Timmis (1899 - 1971), who played for the Hamilton Tigers during the 1920's and coached the Hamilton Wildcats to a Grey Cup win in 1943. The parkette in front of the stadium was developed in 1975. This site was officially named Brian Timmis Park on February 9, 1988.
