Bridgestone/Firestone Canada Inc. is a leading tire manufacturer/marketer and offers a broad range of high quality tires for passenger cars, public transit vehicles, trucks, and aircraft.

The company was established in March 1990 as a wholly owned sales and marketing subsidiary of Bridgestone/Firestone Inc. of Nashville, Tennessee, and is among the group of companies owned by the Bridgestone Corporation, which has a worldwide emphasis on technology, marketing, and service. Bridgestone/Firestone Canada Inc.’s corporate headquarters in Mississauga, Ontario, were opened in May 1990 and the company operates distribution centres in Mississauga, Vancouver, Winnipeg, and Montreal.

In 1992, Ed Hyjek was appointed President and CEO of Bridgestone/Firestone Canada Inc. and later the same year, was recognized as “Chief Executive Officer of the Year” by Bridgestone/Firestone, Inc.  Bridgestone and Firestone brand tires are manufactured at a leading-edge plant in Joliette, Quebec. A textiles plant in Woodstock, Ontario, manufactures nylon yarns, resins and woven tie cords.

Bridgestone products are distributed through an independent dealer network of 600 outlets, including three wholly owned subsidiaries: Crown Tire Service Ltd., Service de Pneus CTR Ltee., and Crown Tire Service (Atlantic) Canada Ltd. The Firestone division also has an extensive independent distributor network of more than 970 outlets, runs 110 Firestone Automotive Centres and supplies more than 672 Ford dealerships across the country.
