Bilingual Head-Hunter
Toronto’s Anne Whitten Bilingual Human Resources Inc. is a well known specialty agency recruiting and placing bilingual staff in various positions at various levels, including management. Established by a Belgian born, highly motivated and energetic entrepreneur, Anne Whitten found success indirectly. While visiting her sister in Toronto, 1960, Anne learned English so rapidly that she stayed for a year, discovering that there was a real need in Canada for translators. Born in Louvain, 15 miles east of Brussels, Anne graduated from the prestigious Université Catholique de Louvain with a degree in Philosophy and Letters. In Canada she founded the Belgian Canadian Business Association and has taught French at such private schools as Loretto Abbey and Havergal College, both in Toronto.
