Dentchev, better known as “Klimbo” in the entertainment world, is a Bulgarian-born,
Sofia-educated Canadian living in Montreal as an illustrator, storyteller,
actor, and multi-talented artist. Klimbo’s Societé-Radio-Canada
TV series between 1979-83 was sold worldwide to over 20 different countries
and was the winner of over 10 international awards. Two of his best-known
illustrated stories of this series are L’oeil Gauche du Roi and Le Lionet
la Souris, the latter winning the prestigious George Foster Peabody Award,
ceremonies held in New York City, 1982, and administered by the University
of Georgia School of Journalism and Mass Communication. [Photo, courtesy
