A
strong proponent for Canadian unity ever since he immigrated to Montreal,
Quebec, in 1952, after studying law in Paris, Bulgarian-born Anton Tchipeff
was elected Chairman of the Bulgarian National Committee created to coincide
with Canada’s centennial celebrations in 1967. From 1986-92, he was Assistant
Deputy Minister for the Government of Quebec’s Ministry of Immigration
and Cultural Communications. In 1997, he received the award of the Agency
of Bulgarians Abroad, in Sofia, and was decorated Knight of Madara, First
Class, by the President of the Bulgarian Republic.This 1992 image of Anton
