The town of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of the few municipalities in all of North America that has kept its 18th century Georgian charm intact. A large immigration of German Lutherans to this community in mid-18th century Georgian Canada brought with them the legacy of German architecture associated with four kings of Great Britain, all named George and all of German descent. This Georgian building at 69 Fox Street, Lunenburg, today named the Lennox Tavern, was built by German-born Andreas Jung, circa 1790. Jung was one of the early German immigrants who helped found the Town of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, 1753. [Photo, courtesy Pierre St. Jacques/E. Patricia MacDonald, Town of Lunenburg]
